Home Treatment
We offer assessment and treatment for those people in residential
homes or nursing homes. The comprehensive 45-60 minute assessment
will focus on muscle strength/ length/ tone, joint mobility,
balance, vision and cognition. We will then proceed to relate the
ability of an individual to the functional goals outlined by the
patient
(i.e. to walk with a stick), in discussion with the physiotherapist.
We can offer advice on walking aids, suitable chair/ bed equipment
and functional aids. At the conclusion of the assessment we will
give an impression of any rehabilitation potential and a plan on how
to maximise improvement.
Commonly treated individuals within residential homes are those with
deficits following a stroke; recovering from orthopaedic surgery or
in need of rehabilitation following an illness.
